Meet The Team

Simon Rothwell LL.B (Hons) MBA : CEO

Simon RothwellSimon started his early career as a British Police Officer for 7 years before moving into business. He has a background in PPE and CBRN particularly in the decontamination shower system and emergency shelter/structure area. Simon is passionate about improving the experience of the bereaved and assisting those that deal with the deceased through the use of technology and innovation. He is also committed to ensuring that the company provides outstanding support to both customers and distributors. Simon is also active within the wider entrepreneurship area and has advised new start-ups on sales and marketing at Cranfield Business School and acted as Publishing Editor for the Senate Hall Strategic Management Journal. In 2013 he sat on the assessment panel for the UK'S Entrepreneur Of The Year award at Cranfield Business School. Simon has also presented at a variety of academic events both at home (e.g. Cranfield Business School, OU) and overseas (including REDETE 2014 in Bosnia).

Steve Huggins : Commercial Director

Steve brings a wealth in experience across various fields including PPE, CBRN and mass fatality. During the preparation to the London 2010 Olympics Steve worked alongside many organisations such as the Red Cross and NHS London designing and advising on rapid deployment emergency shelters and mass decontamination shower systems. Steve has worked closely with many hospitals, hospices, funeral directors and the public sector to assist in the development of all of the Flexmort products to ensure they meet the needs of the customer. Steve is very customer focused and has been key to driving growth within both the UK and overseas customers.

John Sullivan Bsc.Dip.Comp : Technical Director

John began his electronics career as a TV engineer moving onto Lucas Aerospace and then serving 15 years in the Royal Air Force. During his time in the Air Force John worked on the Tornado GR1 aircraft at TTTE Cottesmore supporting the radar systems. John trained for 18mnths working on High Powered transmitters and receiver equipment serving 12 years supporting systems in the UK, Falklands, Ascension Islands and Cyprus plus a 4 month deployment under operation haven during the Iraq conflict. John received two medals during his time in the Air force and left in 2000 to follow a career path in Semiconductors after completing 10 years with the Open University working on Computing, Physics and Music Diplomas plus an Open Bachelors Degree in Science. John spent 8 years running and maintaining a German company supporting the Semiconductor industry with both sales and technical onsite support for metrology, etch and other systems and continues to do so but under the umbrella of his own company. Since 2011 John has been designing and evolving cooling systems for both Flexmort’s mortuary systems as well as developing a variety of applications within the Medical industry and manufacturing industry alike.

Mark Rose : Technical Manager

Mark Rose CropAfter leaving grammar school, Mark’s passion for cars led to him spend 27 years in the motor trade. A variety of roles ensued ranging from commercial vehicle salesman, parts manager and aftersales manager to his own business exporting cars and car parts. During this time he picked up a wealth of experience in many areas including customer service. Mark has been involved in many of the Flexmort products, including the development of the CoverCool Mini 170 as well as providing service support to support to customers.

Kimberley Hyde : Business Development Manager

Kimberley Hyde CropKimberley joined the team with a wealth of industry knowledge through her 7 years of experience in organising and account managing the UK's National Funeral Exhibition. Kimberley develops and looks after our key DNA Memorial accounts while introducing other products from across the business. Kimberley’s background in events and account management is key in maintaining client relationships.

Laura Nichols : Accounts

Joan Rothwell : Accounts

Jack Berry : Apprentice

Jack Berry CropWorking alongside the rest of the team Jack works across all areas of the business including the warehouse, office, and is also involved in installing equipment. He is currently working towards a Business and Administration qualification.

Sophie Jones : Apprentice

Sophie Jones CropSophie focuses on our DNA Memorial product range, ensuring that all our procedures are closely followed and deals with the laboratory. Sophie is currently working towards a Business and Administration qualification.
