“The Independent Inquiry into the issues raised by the David Fuller case Phase 1 Report, was published on 28th November. This phase of the Inquiry has been to establish what happened in the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
Based on the evidence heard and reviewed by the Inquiry team, the report makes a total of 17 recommendations, including:
- ensure that only those with appropriate and legitimate access can enter the mortuary
- regularly monitor access to restricted areas, including the mortuary, by all staff and contractors
- CCTV is reviewed on a regular basis by trained staff and examined in conjunction with swipe card data to identify trends that might be of concern
